A Note From Christina
Happy 2012! I am really excited to see what this year brings! Since last year’s benefit concert with the Unity Center for Practical Spirituality, I have continued to create projects and perform. It’s almost like, the flood gate was opened(once again) and now I can’t shut it off! Through the years, whenever I decided to leave the music industry and pursue another career, music always made it’s way back into my life.
In September, I was asked by a dear friend of mine, Director Scott Coulter, to join the cast of “Stories In My Mind”. A review of the songs of Dennis Livingston. We performed at the world renown cabaret theater “The Metropolitan Room” in Manhattan. It was such a thrill for me to return to the cabaret stage in New York City! I haven’t performed in New York since my one woman show “Home Is Where The Heart Is” where I did a run at “Don’t Tell Mama’s” cabaret theater. You can see video clips of the show in my video section. My favorite numbers were my solo “Every Time I think Of you” and the group number “Ordinary Day”. Check them out!
During the Holiday’s I had the pleasure to meet and perform with fellow Swede Steven Magnuson. Him and I actually met while I was singing at a real estate open house. He was walking through, and within minutes him and I were bringing the house down singing the duet “All I Ask Of You”. After that, we knew we should be singing together. He invited me to sing with him in his Holiday concert “For The Love Of Music”. I also met an incredible musician Chris Coogan whom I know I will be performing with in the near future. What a talent!
I am really excited about a concert series myself and a dear friend of mine Michele Goritz put together. Her and I have been talking for over a year about putting a concert together and after talking and talking about it, we FINALLY got it together! The concert series is called “Walking the talk…finally”. We did a couple of preview performances at friend’s home’s and will be doing our first public performance at the Nathaniel Witherell in Greenwich. Soon our website will be up and running. Be sure to visit it!
Well, It’s that time of year again. I am in the throws of putting together Unity Center’s second annual Benefit Concert. It will be performed on Saturday, April 28th. I have no doubt it will be just as spectacular as last year’s. This year we are teaming up with the B.J. Ryan’s Foundation. It is a locally based foundation which supports several local charities. We are so fortunate to be working with them.
I am so greatful that music has once again made it’s way back into my life. I intend on making it the only thing I do as I continue to perform. I am getting ready to put a one woman show together again. I can’t wait!
May 4th 2011
Welcome! 2011 has been such an incredible year so far! I am truly blessed in so many ways. This year my life has lifted off taking me to new heights both personally and professionally. I owe it to my willingness to make a needed change and also to the “Unity Center For Practical Spirituality” located in Norwalk, CT.
My lift off started last summer when I attended my first ever spiritual retreat with Unity Center. It was 5 days of completely submerging myself into my spiritual life. Day and night meeting up with friends (who are now like family) and reminding each other of our spiritual nature, sharing LOTS OF LAUGHS and enjoying delicious meals. On the last day of the retreat, we had a cabaret night where several of us shared our love of music, art and poetry. I sang my absolute favorite song “Listen To My Heart” accompanied by David Friedman who just so happens to be my most CHERISHED composer!!!!! I wanted time to stand still. At that moment, I felt my heart wings spread out as far as they could reach! I knew in that moment I would never be the same. I felt what it was like to truly be living my passion and purpose and I vowed to never lose that feeling again!
On April 8th of this year I was honored to be a part of the largest, most incredible night of music Unity Center has ever put together. The show was called “Hear Our Song” starring tons of local, Broadway and Hollywood talent. Absolutely stunning Lucie Arnaz, Laurence Luckinbill, David Friedman, Scott Coulter, Raissa Katona Bennett and so many more! Norwalk’s City Hall had never seen such an extravaganza! We literally brought Broadway to Norwalk CT! Coming soon will be a whole page on the Unity Center’s website for you to check out photo’s, press releases, video clips and more of this amazing event! www.unitycenterps.org
